As many as 14 new containment zones have been added to Gurugram, six zones have been removed from Sohna block and one from the city. Pataudi block is now a non-containment zone since two of its areas have been removed from the list.
New containment zones in urban areas include DLF-2 L-block, GH plot 2 and Hermitage society in DLF-3 among others. Areas such as Om Prakash Ki Gali in Nathupur village, Kherki Daula Ki Dhani in Kherki Daula, Vridha Ashramwali Gali in Bajghera, Hanuman Mandirwali Gali in Baliyawas, Chapparwali Gali, Hoti Lal Ki Dhani, Mandirwali Gali in Jamalpur, and Gali number 6, Gali number 7 and Gali number 8 in Sheetla Colony have also been added to the list.
As many as 19 containment zones have been retained in the city. Fazilpur Jharsa has been removed. Ward number 11 and ward number 14 in Pataudi have also been removed, making Pataudi block a non-containment area. Six areas from Sohna, including Gehlot Vihar, Javed Colony, Pahar Colony, Nut colony, ITI colony, Sohna and Raipur village, have also been dropped.

In Gurugram, meanwhile, nine more people were tested positive for the disease, taking the Covid number to 178. Among those who tested positive include an auto driver who has link with Khansda vegetable mandi which has been marked as hotspot, one person from Gandhi Nagar and another from Basai Enclave area. Six other patients are from Rajiv Nagar. All of them contracted the infection after they came in contact with Covid-19 patients.
“Our teams are conducting surveillance in markets after these areas recorded a rise in cases. We are also checking auto drivers and close contacts of vegetable vendors. We are tracing contacts and testing people rapidly to contain the virus spread,” said JS Punia, chief medical officer, Gurugram.
Punia added that door-to-door survey will be conducted in these new areas. “We are gathering data and have requested RWAs of these new containment areas to provide details of all residents to our teams,” he said.
According to the health bulletin, Gurugram has 2,620 people who are under surveillance at quarantine units. So far, 15,131 people have been put on surveillance in the district, out of which 12,909 people have completed a surveillance period of 28 days. The health department so far has sent 9,281 samples from Gurugram and 8,866 have turned to be negative. Of them 179 are positive while the results of 236 samples are still awaited.
